Do it once, do it right

So this is the fourth safety razor I have bought. First was a cheap Schick, then a cheap King C. Gilette then a $60 Edwin Jagger. The first two were nowhere near aggressive enough and needed multiple passes and left too much stubble. The last made me look like I had used a machete and despite this I stuck with it for 6 months trying to convince myself it was my technique and I needed to learn the art. Alas, I gave up. The Rockwell is just incredible. Super close shave, minimal passes and almost no nicks at all. It's the one I should have got originally. I have been using it for a few months now, building up from level 1 to level 3 and the results are fantastic. I'm no investment banker so this was a significant outlay for a razor but I can wholeheartedly say it was worth every cent. I don't like the slipperiness that comes from chrome so I went all-in on the stainless and it didn't disappoint. Build quality is exceptional and I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I have noticed is one blade consistently feels slightly more aggressive than the other. I assume this is just a very minor misalignment in the mechanics somewhere. I quite like this quirk as I use the less aggressive side for tricky chin and neck spots but if you like both blades to feel identical then perhaps be aware of this potential manufacturing defect on the first few shaves.

Super quality razor ... Ultra smooth shave on lower settings... setting 5 to 6 are aggressive so be careful...

Brilliant Razor

Ok, here's a cautionary tale about trying to save money and spending more. I've used the Rockwell 6S for a number of years. Wonderful Razor but annoying to change the plates each shave if you let the beard grow more than the usual few days. Enough of this manual plate changing labour, time to invest in an adjustable Razor. Naturally looked at the Rockwell and thought - ouch that's a bit pricey. Here's a plan, buy something cheaper, of course it will be just as good. Spent $30 on a Qshave adjustable. Seriously would have had a smoother shave with a chainsaw!! Ok may have to spend a bit more. Bought a Parker Variant Adjustable next. Not bad, but if you have sensitive skin like me it was still a bit harsh shaving against the grain on the mildest setting. I'm now convinced that an adjustable is the way to go. Finally did what I should have done at the beginning and stuck with Rockwell. Bought the T2 SS and will never look back. Smoothest shave i've ever had and so easy to adjust. My sensitive skin shows no signs of rash, even shaving against the grain when set on "2". If only i'd been sensible at the start. Don't be like me, just trust me and buy the T2 SS

Great razor

This is a great razor, I purchased this as an upgrade from the T2 chrome model. There is not a huge difference, slightly heavier. you can't go wrong with either

Rockwell T2 close shave winner!

Is such a well engineered product you notice the quality straight away. The design makes installing the blade and adjusting the razor depth so easy. I already adjust the razor depth every shave starting at 3 on the first pass, then 2 for across the grain and 1 for against the grain. This works really well for my sensitive skin. It would be really hard to have this level of flexibility with a different razor that doesn't allow you to adjust the depth on the fly. Highly recommend.
