I bought this stone to provide a mirror finish on my plane blades and chisel - the result is outstanding. The plane blades can shave continuous translucent wafer thin off even the hardest wood. Highly recommended.

Shapton Glass stone HR 16000 Grit

Great finishing stone, leaves a mirror polished egde. Also the edge is razor sharp, this is exactly what i was look for. The stone is easy to maintain & use. I am going to purchase 500k, 1000k, 4000k & 8000k. I won't be using traditional water stones anymore, i am switching to Shapton as they are fast cutting & you don't need to pre soak before & during use. i am using them for woodworking.

Razor sharp

Like others I have to confess that the only thing that will be sharpened on this stone is chisels and plane blades, but they are being tested by shaving arm hairs.
